Impact Fellows Action Fund Helps Get Champion for Child Elected in Pennsylvania
Impact Fellows Action Fund advances pro-child and family political advocacy in Pennsylvania through its grant to Children First Action Fund. One of their key initiatives, the Child Care Voter Campaign, encourages candidates to demonstrate their commitment to affordable, accessible child care by completing a survey and signing a pledge.

James Malone, Senator-elect after winning his race on March 25, actively participated in the Child Care Voter Campaign—solidifying his commitment to young children and families. Children First Action Fund informed voters in Malone’s district of his stance through outreach efforts, contrasting his position with that of his opponent, who did not go on the record with support.
“We are incredibly proud that Senator-elect Malone took a strong stand for Pennsylvania’s children—signing our pledge, completing our survey, and distinguishing himself as a leader on this critical issue.”
Donna Cooper
Director, Children First Action Fund
Malone’s victory in Pennsylvania’s special election was a major upset in a traditionally conservative district. His win highlights how political advocacy can make child care and family-focused policies winning issues by turning out voters who shape electoral outcomes. Children First Action Fund looks forward to working with Senator-elect Malone to support Pennsylvania families. Congratulations to our Impact Fellows Action Fund Fellow, Children First Action Fund with Donna Cooper and Kevin Burgess at the helm.
