Food For Thought - Celebrating Cuisines and Cultures of Sharon, MA -  New Interfaith Initiative

Posted Thu, October 08, 2009 7:48 AM

IFA community volunteers, lead by co-chairs Nita Desai and Judy Ludwig, are collaborating on an Interfaith Recipe Book, “Food for Thought” -Celebrating Cuisines and Cultures of Sharon, MA. The goal is to continue bridging the gap among the diverse communities that live in Sharon.

Food, which is a common denominator, brings people together to share experiences that foster a greater understanding and respect. Moreover, it will create an opportunity for a diverse group to share their traditional comfort foods, special delights, and interesting stories revolving around them.

Our aim for this culinary project is to include unique recipes from around the world, and highlight the traditions of the people of Sharon.  All proceeds from this Recipe Book will support Interfaith Action community celebrations and programs for the youth.

To contribute a recipe, simply email it to (JavaScript must be enabled to view this email address).

  • Please include your name as the contributor
  • Tell us about the recipe - why or how it is special to you.
  • Please include your phone number and email at the bottom of your recipe, in case we have any questions.

If you prefer, here is a recipe template in pdf format.  Recipes will be accepted through March 31, 2010. Email your recipes back to the committee or you may send them by postal service to Nita Desai, 41 Essex Rd, Sharon, MA 02067.
