T.I.D.E. 2010 Required Forms for ALL T.I.D.E. Registrants to Complete Prior to Arrival at T.I.D.E.

Northeastern University staff requests that you bring photo identification with you at check-in. Photo ID may be a driver’s license, state ID, school ID card or a passport. If you do not have a photo ID, please bring identifying paperwork (for example an official copy of your birth certificate) and a recent (school) picture with your name on the back.
ALL check-in is done at White Hall, 21 Forsyth Street, Boston, MA. Plan to check-in on Friday between 4 and 6 PM. Daytime attendees also need to arrive by 8AM on Saturday and Sunday to check-in for the day.
Nightly check-out times for non-overnight attendees is with IFA staff and occurs at 8:30 PM (prior to nightly special events) or at 10 PM (following the conclusion of the special evening events). The conference concludes on Sunday, May 30 at 5 PM. Daytime attendees should plan to sign out with IFA staff and depart at 5PM. Overnight guests will have from 5 to 7 PM on Sunday to pack their belongings, check-out of their rooms, return their keys and sign-out.
Live drop-off and pick-up is advised. Parking is available at the Renaissance but it is paid parking and it is a good walk across campus to White Hall. Public transportation is advised for Boston area attendees.Every attendee, whether teen or adult, must download, complete and return the following:
- Either the TIDE Teen Health and Consent Form if you are a teen younger than 18 by May 28, 2010 or the TIDE Adult Health and Consent Form if you will be 18 years of age or older by May 28, 2010.

We strongly urge all attendees to scan and email back the forms to Interfaith Action as soon as possible. No attendees may check-in and participate at the T.I.D.E. 2010 Conference without both of these completed signed forms on file with Interfaith Action. While you may bring them with you, it would be best to email them back to Interfaith Action ahead of time.

High School Summer Internships

IFA Seeks Two High School Summer Interns
Interfaith Action is seeking two high school students for its annual summer internship program! The four-week internship will run from July 5-30, and interns will have numerous opportunities to be involved in project planning and project management, developing resources for next year's senior leadership team, and assisting IFA with miscellaneous marketing and office tasks as needed. Interns will spend three hours a day at the office, and will work closely with the Youth Program Director and Senior Intern.

Dr. Jack Levin to Speak at T.I.D.E. 2010

Interfaith Action is delighted to announce that internationally-acclaimed scholar,
will be speaking at our upcoming Teenage Interfaith Diversity Education (T.I.D.E.) Conference in May! Dr. Levin is the Irving and Betty Brudnick Professor of Sociology and Criminology and Co-Director of the Brudnick Center on Violence and Conflict at Northeastern University. He is a leading expert on hate crimes, social conflict, and issues of prejudice and discrimination. His Saturday May 29 evening talk, entitled "Combating the Violence of Hate," at the T.I.D.E. 2010 Wave of Change Conference will focus around issues of prejudice and violence, and how we as a society engage with issues of bias and bias-related events in our everyday lives.

T.I.D.E. 2010 is a place where teens take charge. So, teens, we need to hear from you! Do you want to run an interactive workshop that lets us learn about your interfaith program? Perhaps you want to lead a session about your particular faith tradition or share a performance? If so, then please fill out the application form below! Adults may also submit an application to present at a separate adult-track during the T.I.D.E. conference.

Food For Thought - Celebrating Cuisines and Cultures of Sharon, MA - New Interfaith Initiative

IFA community volunteers, lead by co-chairs Nita Desai and Judy Ludwig, are collaborating on an Interfaith Recipe Book, "Food for Thought" -Celebrating Cuisines and Cultures of Sharon, MA. The goal is to continue bridging the gap among the diverse communities that live in Sharon. Food, which is a common denominator, brings people together to share experiences that foster a greater understanding and respect. Moreover, it will create an opportunity for a diverse group to share their traditional comfort foods, special delights, and interesting stories revolving around them.

Sharon’s Many Traditions Photo Exhibit

Celebrate the wonderful diversity of Sharon with the Sharon's Many Traditions Photo Exhibit. Over eighty photographs have been collected to show the many ways religious, cultural and family traditions are celebrated in town. The photographers are professional and amateurs from the community.
The photo exhibit opened at the Lakeside Gallery in the Sharon Adult Center on Thursday evening, Sept. 24, to a tremendous showing. The free reception offered traditional foods as well as entertainment by local musicians. Don't miss the closing celebration this Thursday October 29 from 7-9 PM. YLP teens will lead optional small group discussions on traditions and a buffet dessert table will also sweeten the evening.
Perhaps you read about the exhibit in the September 24 Globe South. Come now and enjoy it for yourself! There is a "Viewers Choice" program in conjunction with the exhibit, so we hope you have cast your vote for your favorites. The Viewer's Choice Recipients will be acknowledged at the exhibit closing ceremony on October 29. IFA Selected to Host “Faiths Act Fellows” by Tony Blair Faith Foundation & Interfaith Youth Core

MASSACHUSETTS ORGANIZATION AND STUDENTS SELECTED TO WORK WITH TONY BLAIR TO TACKLE MALARIA
TONY BLAIR FAITH FOUNDATION WITH INTERFAITH YOUTH CORE ANNOUNCE "FAITHS ACT FELLOWS"
April 21, 2009. The Tony Blair Faith Foundation, in collaboration with the Interfaith Youth Core (IFYC), have today announced 12 exceptional young people selected in the US to take part in a youth leadership program established to bring people of different faiths together to achieve the Millennium Development Goals, and in particular, eliminate deaths due to malaria. Among those selected are Amherst student Rebecca Oyen, 22, Harvard student Miranda Rosenberg, 21, Brandeis student Benjamin Bechtolsheim, 21 and Wellesley student Maya Smith, 21.
One of the Massachusetts students will be working at host organization Interfaith Action, in Sharon, MA. IFA is one of six sites nationwide chosen to host an interfaith pair of Fellows during the eight months of October 2009 - May 2010. -
YLP to Present at NAIN 2009

From June 25 through 28, 2009, Interfaith Action and its Youth Leadership Program will have 5 representatives presenting at the North American Interfaith Network (NAIN) Conference. This year's conference in Kansas City, Missouri will focus on Experiencing the Spirit in Education: the Challenge of Religious Pluralism.
